From Ukraine to Portugal
More than 3 000 people supported — accommodation, work, documents, schooling, food, healthcare and psychological support for families displaced by the war.
February 24, 2022 completely changed our lives, before and after. Our organisation could not stay away. So we decided to create a project to help refugees, with no idea of the scale we would reach. The project has now supported more than 3 000 people, and that is not the limit. Main activities: free temporary accommodation for one to three months; finding and contracting paid accommodation for up to a year; furnishing flats; finding jobs and providing legal support with contracts; assistance with temporary asylum documents and social benefits; free Portuguese lessons; registering children in schools and kindergartens; weekly food packages for families in greatest need; three to four healthcare consultations each week; clothing; and psychological support, provided to around 60% of those who arrived.
